Viva Mexico

Recently, I have been fascinated with Mexico.  I adore the culture, the food and, of course, the tequila.  The mountains in Central Mexico are as amazing as is either coast – along the Caribbean or the Pacific.

Since that week in Cozumel, I have visited different areas of Mexico – San Miguel de Allende, Cabo San Lucas, and Isla Mujeres to name a few.  Once again, Mexico is on my mind as I plan a trip for the spring of 2018 to Tulum.  Despite the recent negative press that Cancun has received, I am looking forward to exploring the Mayan Ruins in Tulum and nearby, snorkeling in the cenotes of the area, and relaxing on the beach as I sip my favorite beach cocktail – a Paloma.  As I am finalizing the details for my next journey South of the Border, I will share some of my favorite Mexican travel memories – the taste of the food, the thirst quenching cocktails and the warm and inviting people.

As a girl from Louisiana, I have always had a bit of an adventuresome spirit. And Louisiana has always provided me with countless opportunities to experience its rich cultural heritage. As wonderful as Louisiana is, I still have this overwhelming need to experience the world beyond my state boundaries. This wanderlust has taken me from the marshes of Louisiana to the temples in Kyoto, Japan to the magnificent cathedrals in Spain to a dinner party at the home of a merchant marine in Venice. In each of these places, I have been fortunate enough to meet new friends who have shared their culture with me. What began for me as the exploration of places nearby, has evolved into an adventure to places far away. It has been my lifelong dream to share my passion for authentic travel experiences with others.
